Fundraising Events
The funds raised from these events help support our mission to increase access to quality education and to present and celebrate the equine and agricultural industries while acting as a powerful advocate for the preservation and sustainability of farming in rural Ontario. These events also increase community awareness of our various programs, and promote community involvement with REACH Huron.
Chicken Wing Competition- September 17th, 2011
This first ever event is an exciting example of local charities working together to achieve both their individuals goals and to collectively move one step closer to their mutual mission of improving quality of life throughout Huron, Perth, Bruce & Grey.
The Chicken Wing Competition will be an exciting and lively event that will include games, door prizes, entertainment and the United Way of Perth-Huron 50/50 Draw. Many local restaurants will participate to compete for the title of ‘best wings’. People’s choice and judge’s choice winners will be selected.
The evening will also include a dessert auction, full bar and a spicy chicken wing speed eating contest.
In addition to the Chicken Wing Competition, several other events will also be held at REACH Huron throughout Saturday September 17th. Activities will include REACH Huron’s Second Anniversary Celebration, and a Rural Food Conference & Trade Show. Companies that attend or sponsor the Chicken Wing Competition will have exposure to audiences attending all three events.
We expect a large and diverse crowd from both our local community and those that surround us.
